In July 2022, the FCA take responsibility for regulating the pre-paid funeral plans sector. The FCA have now published its web page addressing its regulation of the sector.
The regulator have set out the steps they expect firms to take prior to the FCA’s regulation of the industry. You must have made appropriate and timely arrangements either to lawfully carry out these activities – for example, by becoming authorised – or have stopped doing FCA regulated business, for example by transferring your existing book of plans to another firm.
