The FCA has published data which shows the number of new whistleblowing reports received between July and September 2022.

The FCA assess every whistleblowing case received to assist them in identifying actual or potential consumer and market detriment.

In this period, the FCA received a total of 291 new whistleblowing reports. These whistleblowing reports alleged corners including;

  • Fitness and propriety
  • Treating customers fairly
  • FSMA
  • Culture
  • Compliance

The concerns raised in whistleblowing reports often reflect the key concerns which the FCA observe within their enforcement and monitoring activities. Fitness and propriety, treating customers fairly and culture are all high on the FCA’s agenda and notable form some of the key elements of the FCA’s Consumer Duty which comes into force in July 2023.
